Begum Rokeya Pioneer snatched the title of Mayor’s Cup T20 cricket tournament. They defeated Haribhanga Cutters, the team of World Cup winning cricketer Akbar Hossain.
Begum Rokeya Pioneer and Haribhanga Cutters will meet in the final match at Rangpur Cricket Garden at 11 am on Tuesday. After winning the toss, Haribhanga captain Akbar Ali decided to field. Begum Rokeya’s captain Salahuddin Pappu got out with the first ball. Begum Rokeya’s supporters were disappointed to lose the wicket of the man who led the team to the title throughout the tournament. After that Begum Rokeya lost 5 wickets before 10 overs.
As a result of 35 runs from Isha’s bat, the score board reached 109 for 8 wickets at the end of the game. Haribhanga was named to bat with a target of 110 in the second innings.
